Dear Colleagues,

As we enter the season of gratitude, I want to express my deep and enduring appreciation for what you do. Through your innovation and intellect, passion and professionalism, we are fulfilling our mission to educate, research, serve and heal.

I am fortunate for the opportunity to witness the incredible work happening throughout our institution.

This week, we highlight a new mechanism for recognizing and supporting faculty efforts across our campus.

We recently announced eight transformative projects that were awarded funding through the inaugural IMPACT initiative. This initiative, announced in February of this year, is an internal funding program designed to support collaboration across UK’s colleges.

The goal is to champion the hard work occurring throughout the campus, inspire greater ingenuity across the enterprise and help community members support each other, especially with a focus on educational efforts that will create new opportunities for students. Our office created this initiative to help support new opportunities for creative growth and innovation. We awarded eight programs this past year and will distribute an announcement soon for a second round of applications. The eight projects include the following colleges: College of Arts and Sciences; Gatton College of Business and Economics; College of Dentistry; College of Design; College of Education; Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering; College of Fine Arts; College of Pharmacy; and UK Libraries.

I invite you to read more about these eight projects, which demonstrate the depth and breadth of talent at the University of Kentucky.

Thank you for all that you do.
