Dear Colleagues,

The Graduate School is seeking nominations for the Nietzel Visiting Distinguished Faculty Program. The program provides funding to bring a widely known academic scholar/distinguished professor to campus to serve as the Graduate School’s Outside Examiner for a student’s dissertation defense. The scholar will also present a research colloquium, open to the UK campus and Lexington community.

The Nietzel endowment provides up to $2,000 per award to provide an honorarium and defray travel costs for the visiting scholar, to be awarded after the colloquium. The student recipients’ department or program is expected to cover any remaining expenses and to coordinate and promote the visiting scholar’s colloquium in collaboration with the Graduate School.

The events (student’s defense + scholar’s colloquium) should occur within a year of receipt of the award. More details and the online nomination form can be found here: http://gradschool.uky.edu/visiting-distinguished-faculty-program

The nomination deadline is November 1.
